Introduction

Dragalia Lost is a mobile swipe-controlled action RPG that's often ignored. However, it is a wonderful game with frequent updates and a lot of adventurers to play, and I highly recommend trying it!

Adventurers, Dragons and Weapons

All adventurers, dragons, and weapons are attuned to one of five elements: fire, water, wind, light, or shadow! Equipping a dragon and weapon with the same element as an adventurer can greatly increase their might! To learn more about these five elements, use the table of contents to head to the Elements section of the page.

As of this page's creation, there are currently 281 adventurers in Dragalia Lost, and more are on the way! This number counts alternate skins (characters in different clothing, often with a different element or weapon) such as summer alts, Gala adventurers, and Halloween alts! Adventurers are the most crucial part of the game; every adventurer has their own unique skills, abilities, and playstyles, so you can always mix things up by trying a new adventurer! Adventurers come in three rarities: 5-star, 4-star, and 3-star, with 3-star adventurers being the easiest to get and 5-stars being the hardest; however, 5-star adventurers are more powerful than 3 star ones and are used more often in co-op play. Some of the best adventurers out there are the Gala Dragalia, which are sometimes more powerful versions of existing characters. The most common way to obtain new adventurers is through the summon system, detailed in the Summoning part of the page.

There are also dragons in the game, which adventurers can equip and shapeshift into during a quest! Dragons also come in three rarities, just like adventurers, and 5 star dragons are the hardest to get while also being the most powerful. Each dragon has unique skills that can be used while an adventurer is shapeshifted as well as unique abilities that they can bestow onto your adventurers! But be careful when equipping dragons; some dragons' abilities only activate when the adventurer is of the same element!

Last but certainly not least are weapons, which adventurers can use to attack with! Each adventurer can use one of nine weapons (sword, blade, dagger, axe, lance, bow, wand, staff, and manacaster) and they can only equip the weapon that they use, so for example, Euden- the main protagonist- is a sword wielder, so you can only equip swords on him. Weapons, like dragons, often have element-specific skills and abilities, and these abilities get more powerful as you make more and more weapons! They also have six rarities, going from one star to 6. 1-star weapons are the beginner weapons, and they get increasingly more powerful until you reach the 6-star Agito weapons. It's best to craft new weapons as you get more adventurers, so you can ensure that your new adventurers can have a shiny new weapon to use in battle!

Summoning

Dragalia Lost is a gacha game, meaning you have to spend in-game resources, like wyrmite, and even real money to pull for- or summon- adventurers. This is the most common way after the tutorial to obtain new adventurers and dragons, even though it's based on luck and you're not always guaranteed to get the adventurers you want. But if you've summoned 300 times and still haven't gotten the adventurer or dragon you want, don't fret! Each summon gives you one wyrmsigil, with the exception of summons performed with diamantium- the in-game currency purchased with real money- which gives you two wyrmsigils per pull. Once you've reached 300 wyrmsigils, you can trade for an adventurer or dragon that is currently featured. When summoning, you have the largest chance to get a 3-star adventurer or dragon, and the smallest chance to get a 5-star adventurer or dragon. The chance to get a 5-star is usually 4%, but when the current banner is a Gala Dragalia banner, that chance goes up to 6%! I do not recommend using real money to summon for limited adventurers; they will either be added to the permanent roster later or they will get a rerun, meaning that they will appear again after their initial banner!

However, summoning is not the only way to get new characters! They will give you a few starter adventurers, which include Euden (the main protagonist), Ranzal, Elisanne, and Cleo! The game also has certain events which will give players free adventurers, often of 5-star rarity! They also let you summon 50 times for free in the beginning, though the chances to get each rarity remain. Make sure to try for a 5-star or Gala adventurer in those first 50 summons!

Gameplay

Dragalia Lost is a swipe-controlled RPG, so you'll be swiping and tapping your screen to attack and dodge. To perform a standard attack, tap the screen; once you've unlocked a certain node in an adventurer's mana circles, which unlock skills and abilities for that adventurer, you can perform a force strike by holding the screen and releasing when the blue arrow under your adventurer fills up. To move around the map, swipe and hold in the direction you want to go. To roll and dodge enemy attacks, quickly swipe in the direction you want your adventurer to go.

Enemy attacks are mapped with either a red shadow or purple shadow; if an attack is mapped with a red shadow, you can dodge it by using a skill or rolling as the boss executes the attack. However, if an attack is mapped with a purple shadow, you cannot use skills or rolling to dodge and your only option is to completely move out of the shadow before the attack is executed.

Music

Dragalia Lost has a lot of amazing soundtracks for their main story, bossfights, and events! Each event often introduces a new soundtrack, and all of them are amazing! Here are some of my favorites:

  1. Hollow Dance
  2. Judgment Day
  3. Sample Answer
  4. Aketara
  5. Carnival
